Before we had Parker we prepped Sparty as best we could with what it would be like to have a baby in the house. We made baby cries, we had a toy baby doll that we swaddled put in the crib, held it, etc. Well it helped, because our puppy Sparty is so loving, caring and gentle with little Parker. He brings him toys, kisses his toes, checks on him when he's crying and watches over him while he sleeps. Here's a story about the cutest boy in the world and his dog.
Meet Parker. Blue eyes. Fuzzy brown hair. Loves blankies. Loves to snuggle. Parker has a big brother named Sparty who loves to make sure he is safe, and who happens to be a dog.

Sparty likes to pretend he still weighs 7 lbs, instead of 70, and sit on his mom's lap while watching over Parker during tummy time.
But look how gentle that 70 lb beast is with our sweet baby boy. Sparty and Parker BFFs forever (or now at least . . .we'll keep you posted when P starts pulling on his ears and tail)Sparty loves loves loves Parker! In fact right now as I blog this, he is laying at the foot of our bed watching over P as he takes a little snooze. He's such a good big brother! And we are so thankful for such a sweet, loving dog to protect our little man. It is going to be fun watching the relationship between Parker and Sparty as time passes by.
That last picture is the sweetest I've seen :) I love it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how much it melts our hearts when we see dogs and babies together. Sparty is such a great beautiful dog and I love knowing that he will keep Parker safe and happy as much as a doggie can :) Great job Mom and Dad- you picked the perfect dog AND perfected his baby loving skills :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I am glad they are getting along well! Our dog, Duke really started enjoying Deegan when he discovered how tasty his spit-up is! I hope you're enjoying this time with your boys!
