Parker Lee, you are two years old!
You are a little ball of energy, light, and love. Here are some things that you love and are doing these days.
You still love singing and music in general. You can be found at least several times a week marching around banging on your drums, and singing your favorite songs. I love hearing how you interpret songs :)
You love movies, and I try not to let you watch too many but there are times when it just is a nice option. You have lots of favorites: Robin Hood, All the Toy Story movies, The Incredibles, Meet the Robinsons, Sleeping Nudey (ha ha love that he calls it this . . .Sleeping Beauty) and Enchanted because of the "naughty dragons", and Peter Pan.
You are big into Pirates, and go around saying ARGH frequently. Anything can be used for a sword too, play food, straws, musical instruments, you name it! And yes, you added that theme to your party . . . silly boy with 200 ideas a day for a party. Such big ideas for such a little man.
You love books so much. We always read at least 4 a night, and you often try to get several re-read again. Your current favorites are "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" "King Bidgood's In the Bathtub" "Corduroy" "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear?" "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" . . . .you just love love love books which is simply wonderful! I love hearing you "read" your favorites too, such a smart boy!
You started being very interested in puzzles lately, and can put together most with little reminders of "turn the piece". You are becoming very confident in your skills!
You love your little brother, "Awww so cute!" you say to him at least 5 times a day. You always want to know where he is, and I think you'll be great buddies. He sure loves you too :)
You are still a big Momma's boy, which I still love. All the snuggles and precious time with just you and I little man are right up there with my favorites! It is a little hard sometimes to let Hudson have my attention when you want it but you'll snuggle right up next to us or you'll say "Daddy hold Hudson now Momma. You hold me."
You are such a chatter box, and seem to learn funny things all the time. And yes you are ALLLLLLL boy. The other day you were laughing about toots and boogers. So silly!
You are very stubborn sometimes, but I know God has big plans for that strong will someday. I try to remind myself of this when you are stuck on something.
You're better at eating most days than you had been for a while. Still don't love veggies but eat quite a few of them. We try to remind ourselves that you'll eat when you are hungry, so we try not to stress out at meal times. But we have become quite tricky at games to get you to try more bites and new things.
You LOVE to help do anything, and are very independent. You can open every door in the house except the sliding door (bedrooms, bathrooms, closets, pantry, fridge, etc.). You love to cook with me in the kitchen and also make lots of pretend soups and cookies in your play kitchen. You like to help "do dishes" and vacuum.
You started being interested in the potty. We let you go when you want to on it. You've gone #2 about 5-6 times and have yet to go #1 on the toilet. We have everything we'll need for when we attack potty training full force this summer, unless you're really ready before. Cool underwear are very appealing though, as well as a cool potty seat.
You love to color, do stickers and play with playdough. You love to play baseball and hit homeruns and "Go Parker Go!" where you throw down your helmet and bat and run all the bases :) You love to build towers and knock them over. You like racing cars down ramps. You like climbing but are still a little cautious on things like stairs which makes me thankful. You love to try to juggle and do somersaults. You could dance to music for 1/2 the day I think.
You take 1 nap for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours most days. You wake up between 6 and 6:30 most days. You do not fall asleep before 9:15 ever, no matter what we try . . but you generally sleep all night long. You've been having bad dreams lately we think, and cutting 4 eye-teeth (finally but ow!) so you've had a few restless nights.
You love to help undress yourself, really only needing help with arms and buttons. You also love to help put your boots or shoes on. If only you remembered to stay still after you take a tub you'd get your jammies on so much faster . . . something about being cold makes you not want to lay still for 3 seconds.
We don't go for your 2 year appt for about 3 more weeks but I'm guessing you are between 28 and 30 pounds. You are probably about 35 inches. You wear size 5 diapers and size 6 (almost in a 7) shoe. You wear 24 month or 2T clothes, sometimes a 3T shirt for length in arms.
It is so unreal that 2 years have passed since you came into this world, but at the same time I feel like I hardly remember you being a little baby anymore. You are such a little person now!
Parker, you are such a smart, lovable snuggly little man. You crack your daddy and I up every day. You're learning so many new and wonderful things and we know God has big plans for you buddy. We pray that he gives us patience when you are stubborn and that we know what words to use to guide you in the right way. We love you so much buddy!
Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDelete"Momma you hold me" that is just so sweet!!! Happy 2nd Birthday to your big boy!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Parker is growing and learning and a ton of fun! He and Deegan have several of the same interests- dishes, cooking, drawing, Toy Story and pirates. Looking forward to some playdates in the summer with you and your boys! I love that Parker says "Sleeping Nudey" instead of Sleeping Beauty. Deegan says Peter Pants instead of Peter Pan... which sounds like Peed Her Pants, lol. You can always count on a lot of smiles and laughter. Can't wait to see the creative things you did for Parker's celebration!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2nd Birthday! These two years flew by .... what in the world?!
