Hudson Thatcher . . . .you are 4 months old today! 1/3 of a year old already!?! Time (as always) is going so fast. Here's what you're up to at 4 months:
- You are (here is me guessing . . . your well check isn't until the 23rd) 27 inches and 16ish pounds (I'll post for real in two weeks to update it accurately).
- You wear size 2 shoes
- You wear size 2 diapers
- You wear size 6 month, 3-6 or 6-9 month, and some random 6-12 month . . . baby sizes seem no different than big people clothes in that respect! :) You are growing growing!
- You take 3 pumped bottles during the day (about 3 1/2 ounces each) and otherwise love to nurse, although you sometimes get so hungry you are impatient which make the whole process interesting ;) But you still love to nurse, and love to tangle your fingers in my hair or hold onto my necklace while you eat, so so sweet little boy!
- You started really rolling over this past month, not over and over and over, but you are rolling over to get to things you want from your back to belly . . . though Daddy has yet to witness it.
- You can be quite dramatic when you are mad, throwing such a production . . you MAY get that from your mother.
- You are the happiest, most content baby (minus those little fits here and there but that's typically when you are tired or hungry). You love talking and playing with the volume of your voice. You sometimes growl like a lion when you talk, sometimes sounds like you are singing along to a song, and Parker is really noticing how many sounds you are making because we've caught him several times saying to you, "Hudson, what are you talking about?" So cute!
- Speaking of Parker, you love your big brother. You light right up when he comes to play with you and talk to you, and often talk right back.
- You give the wettest little smooches, but I love them :)
- You love your paci when you're tired or sometimes just to suck on during the day while you play (although things are really going in your mouth these days - blankets, toys, fingers, anything you can get your hands on)
- You are a drool machine, and I'm pretty positive you have started the teething process. I don't know how long it will be before those bottom teeth come in but I wouldn't be surprised if we see them in the next month or so.
- You love to be upright or sitting, and have been trying to sit up when we lay you down since you turned 3 months. You are so very strong. You love being in the exersaucer, high chair and you seem to like the Bumbo a little more now that you can play with toys. You love to sit at the table next to us at meals.
- We've been able to be outside a little bit, and you seem to love outdoors as much as your big brother does. You also love just people watching, so you're a pretty content man if you have something to watch.
- You are a pretty good sleeper. I often only have to feed you 1 time at time, but you might wake up 2 times. It seems your paci keeps you content when you wake at night. I can tell when you are really hungry and when you just need to be soothed back to sleep. You love your blankies too.
- You seem to take either two really big naps (like 1 1/2 to 3 hours) and a little one, or several little naps throughout the day (about 30 minutes to 1 hour).
- You started playing "pull the blankie over my head" this past couple weeks and love being startled by it on your face; this reminds me so much of your big brother because it was his favorite thing to do for a long time too.
- You are such a snuggle-bug. You love to smile, laugh, and I think you are starting to be ticklish.
Sometimes I think, how in the world are you 4 months already, but at the same time I cannot remember what life was like without you. You are such a sweet little man. We love you buddy-boo!
It sounds like he is at such a fun age right now! Happy 4 months, Hudson!
