5 months old

Guess who is 5 months old already!?! Parker Lee, you are growing before my eyes (far too quickly I might add) and (again) your Daddy and I love watching you learn new things. Here is what you are up to at 5 months:

- You are pushing up so strong now and (almost) loving tummy time now (almost).

- You are wearing 6 month clothes (but some 9 month clothes fit pretty well and we just bought a BUNCH of 6-12 and 12 month clothes . . hoping they'll fit in the fall into winter!)

- You wear size 3 diapers

- You still take (about) 3-4 ounces (from a bottle) and I imagine about the same nursing too. You still love your boob juice!

- You started solids this past month and have had mixed feelings about certain things. Here are your feelings about foods you have tried: Apples (LOVE LOVE LOVE), Sweet Potatoes (love), broccoli (tolerate then make really funny faces "do I HAVE to eat this momma?"), and oatmeal (love, mixed with apples or sweet potatoes).

- You are getting really strong with sitting up. You pretty much can sit with a boppy to support you for about 10 minutes without too many tips. You can sit without the support of a pillow for a a couple minutes but sometimes your toes or toys out of reach get in the way when you are so excited. Big boy!!!

- You weighed 17 lbs 2 oz at your doctor appointment on the 17th of June, and I imagine you are closer to 18 now. And I am betting about 26.5 inches.

- You LOVE your puppy, and he LOVES you too. You just squeel and laugh when he nuzzles your belly, and you love to pull his face and hair (and Sparty just lays there and kisses you while you do it . . .what a good dog!) You love to watch him walk around outside and inside too.

- You love bath time and your kiddie pools. You just splash and love to chew on washclothes and soft bath toys. And you love to watch the water go down the drain at the end of bath time.

- You can drink from a straw but prefer to chew on it right now because of your teeth coming in, and can drink from a sippy cup too, but again love to chew on it.

- You cut your first tooth (right bottom incisor) this past week, and it wasn't a very quick process. It is so cute in your mouth and your left one is just below the gums, so It will likely pop soon too (we hope!) You are still chomping all the time, and forget how sharp your tooth is and have bitten yourself a few times and made yourself very sad for a few moments. Ouch!

- You still LOVE to read, sing, and jabber to yourself all the time. So sweet little man!

- You still like to take cat naps most days (about 30-45 minutes) but have taken up to 3 1/4 hour naps too. Funny boy! You like to be up-and-at-em between 6 and 7 every morning, but sometimes will go back to sleep for a bit longer. Then you take one or two morning naps (depending on how long the first is) and one to two afternoon naps. You still like to wake up about twice at night (around 1 or 2 and 5) to eat and usually fall right back asleep.

Parker, you are such a curious and snuggly little guy. You have the cutest rolls (and they are everywhere!) and sweetest smile. You love checking things out in your environment and give us the BIGGEST smiles when you see us. You either wake up with big smiles, wake up talking to yourself (like your momma did) or sometimes wake up sad until you see mom or dad. You love being outside, going on walks, petting your puppy, playing on the floor, and are loving trying new foods to eat (some more than others). You like to sit, roll over, stand up and bounce. We are pretty sure you even shake your little booty to music too.

You are so loved, and so special. We thank God for you every day and love being your parents! We can't wait to witness your next milestones :)
