Parker, how are you 13 months old today? Please stop growing up so quickly!
We sure love listening to you chatter away as you play by yourself like a big boy, reading your books or making music with your egg shakers and "drums".
You love to make everyone laugh, smile, and love to be snuggled.
You decided you liked baked potatoes this week, and can't get enough Ritz crackers and raisins. You still have your preferred foods (cheese, crackers, fruit, and popcorn) but are getting pretty good at trying new things each day. You still like to make a face with new tastes, but usually love whatever you are trying and will eat more.
You took a few steps a few times over the past couple days. You seem to be an explorer and observer at the same time, a little cautious when you aren't so sure, which is why you aren't totally walking by now we think. We know that when you are ready you will . . and it won't be long . . because you cruise along everything, push everything around, walk all around the kitchen and climb on everything.
You love drinking water, milk, and juice from your sippy cups, and straw cups. You also love your yogurt smoothie in the morning.
You love calling out "Bhe la" (for Bella the cat) and looking around for her. You are saying so many new things all the time. You try repeating most things we say to you. You love saying and signing animals (cat, dog, bird, fish, horse, frog).
You love cruising along in your little car saying and signing "go more" "Pleeease". You love pushing your ride along vehicles around the house and are getting a little better at directing them where you want to go.
Your sleeping habits . . .well I am sure you inherited your mom's sleeping habits. You've never been a great sleeper but we seem to have good stretches. You take 1-2 naps a day for about an 1 to 2 hours each. You go to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 depending on if you take 1 or 2 naps, and sleep until 12:30 or 3ish (sometimes you wake up between) and then are either asleep until 4 or 5, but sometimes don't wake up again until morning. It is just the norm for us, and yes it is exhausting sometimes but like I said, it is normal for us . . and daddy and I take shifts. We go through boughts where you sleep much better than others, then teeth come in, or your get sick and we have a rough couple nights, but we still love you. Light sleeper and all :)
Parker was sick this past week, some yucky wheezing, coughing, and runny nose infection. We had just gone last Friday to the Doc for his well check, and didn't end up getting shots because his nose had been running for a while. Over the weekend he was coughing and then Monday it turned into some wheezing sounding breathing, so off the the Doc we went again. So glad he said no shots because I wasn't thinking it was a good idea either. And this time we were sick enough to get actual meds to take. So two meds later we are feeling MUCH better. A little runny nose and some coughing occasionally but so much better. One thing our Doc recommended was making sure her got lots of liquids with the meds and the combination of being sick too. So we decided Parker could have some juice. We tried giving him some around 5 or 6 months but he wasn't a big fan. Well he loves it, doesn't seem too picky on flavors
His little dimples are starting to disappear :( But goodness I love all those rolls he has had for the past 13 months
As you can tell, P is feeling much better :)
(Pointing to the S for Michigan State magnet on the fridge that plays the fight song, one of your favorite things to dance to, which your daddy loves)
Happy 13 months Parker! We love you :)
